Mandi: Car hits bike, 9-month-old child dies…4 injured

Mandi, August 26: A 9-month-old child has died in a car accident in Dhelhu Gadiara near Jogindernagar city under the Mandi district, while 4 people have been injured. The condition of 1 of the injured is said to be critical.

According to the information received, a car went out of control at around 8:30 am today in Dhelhu Gadiara near Jogindernagar on Mandi-Pathankot National Highway and after hitting a bike parked on the roadside and two youths standing with it, fell into the adjoining field.

After the incident, all the injured were brought to Civil Hospital Jogindernagar for first aid, from where 4 seriously injured were referred to Tanda Medical College. A 9-month-old child died during treatment in Tanda. Both the youths standing with the bike have also suffered serious injuries. The injured have been identified as Sandeep Kumar, Amit Kumar, Gaurav Kumar and Anshul.

On the other hand, the condition of Sandeep Kumar undergoing treatment in Tanda is said to be critical, while 9-month-old innocent Avinash died during treatment. SP Mandi Sakshi Verma has confirmed the incident. She said that further action is being taken in the case.
