LoP Jairam Thakur: Instead of giving employment to the youth, CM Sukhu is busy distributing cabinet ranks to friends and saving his government

Shimla, June 17: BJP Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, while issuing a press statement in the capital Shimla, said that what happened to the Startup Scheme that was to be started by the Sukhu government of the ruling Congress Party for the youth of the state? Jairam Thakur said that when will the youth of the state start getting the benefits of the Startup Scheme?
Jairam said that in the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections of 2022, the Congress party had guaranteed that as soon as the government is formed, a startup fund of Rs 680 crore will be released for the youth of every assembly constituency of Himachal Pradesh at the rate of Rs 10 crore each, so that the youth of the state will provide employment to other youth by generating employment opportunities for themselves through startups.
The LoP said that many leaders of the Congress party had even got the youth of the state to fill up forms for the startup fund before the 2022 Himachal Pradesh assembly elections And after coming to power for a year after the 2022 Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, the Sukhu government of the Congress appeared silent on the startup fund.
He said that in the month of November 2023, the Sukhu government of the ruling Congress party had formally announced the launch of the first phase of the Startup Scheme and big advertisements were printed in all the newspapers, and big hoardings were put up on the roads. Not only this, instead of setting up big industrial production units under the Startup Scheme, the Sukhu government had talked about giving subsidy to the youth of the state on the purchase of electric vehicles, and thousands of youth of the state had also applied.
Jairam said that more than eight months have passed since the announcement of the Startup Scheme, but till now not a single youth of the state has got the benefit of the Startup Scheme. Not even a single electric taxi has been purchased under the Startup Scheme yet.
The Leader of Opposition asked whether it takes more than eight months to buy an electric taxi. He said that the Congress government has no intention of working in the interest of the youth of the state.
Jairam said that the Sukhu government has betrayed the youth of the state who are waiting for financial assistance for startups.
He said that the Swavalamban Yojana started by the previous BJP government was also closed down by the ruling Sukhu government of the Congress party, and the Sukhu government has not even released the budget for the schemes which were approved before the closure.
Jairam said that there are some youths in the state to whom some installments of Swavalamban Yojana have been issued but the remaining installments are not being issued to the youths of the state by the Sukhu government. Due to which the youths of the state have been deliberately left in limbo by the Sukhu government.
Jairam Thakur said that the Congress government came to power by promising to provide employment to lakhs of youth of the state but the Sukhu government is neither providing employment to the people itself nor is it allowing the enterprising youth to provide jobs to the people.
Jairam Thakur said that a total investment of Rs 721 crore was made in the state under the Swavalamban scheme by the previous BJP government. A grant of Rs 200 crore was provided by the BJP government under the Swavalamban scheme. A total of 4377 units were approved in this. Which provided employment to 11 thousand 674 people.
Jairam said that if Sukhu government had not stopped the Swavalamban scheme due to political animosity, thousands of employment opportunities and revenue would have been generated in the state. But due to Sukhu government’s short-sightedness and working with a spirit of revenge, the youth of the state are facing problems today.
Jairam said that at this time CM Sukhu is working only for the welfare of his friends & he is working only to protect the interests of his friends. Instead of giving employment to the youth of the state, CM Sukhu is busy distributing cabinet ranks to his friends and saving his government.
Jairam said that the Sukhu government of the Congress party has made enough false promises and has talked a lot about this and that. Now it has been more than one and a half years since the government was formed. Now the Sukhu government should release the startup fund budget of Rs. 680 crore as soon as possible.
