Lok Sabha Elections: Congress Preparing To Contest Lok Sabha Elections In Himachal Under The Leadership Of New State President

Congress Party observers DK Shivkumar and Bhupinder Kumar Hooda, who came to normalize the situation amid the ongoing political turmoil in Himachal Pradesh, want the current state president Pratibha Singh to contest from Mandi parliamentary seat and are in favor of appointing a new Himachal Pradesh Congress president.In the report submitted to the Congress Party high command, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Kumar Hooda have recommended changes in this regard soon. In such a situation, speculations have intensified about the appointment of a new president temporarily in Himachal Pradesh till the Lok Sabha elections.

Before the assembly elections, the Congress party had appointed four working presidents along with Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh. Harsh Mahajan and Pawan Kajal, who were made acting state presidents, have left Congress and joined BJP. Rajinder Rana has also resigned from the post of acting president. Due to becoming the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Vinay Kumar is technically no longer working on the post of Acting President. In such a situation, the path to appointing a new president is not going to be easy for Congress party.

In this hour of political crisis, there is talk of giving the leadership to a leader who can create better coordination between the Congress government of Himachal Pradesh and the Congress party organization. Sources said that consideration has started to give charge again to one of the few former presidents of the Congress Party. The search is on for a leader who can bring all the groups together. On the other hand, the observers have also said in their report that the coordination committee should be announced in the next few days and the names of three members should be announced soon. It has already been announced to appoint the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President in the committee.

Search for strong candidate from Kangra, Shimla and Hamirpur –

Congress party is looking for a strong candidates from Kangra, Shimla and Hamirpur parliamentary constituencies. In Hamirpur, Congress is facing defeat in eight consecutive parliamentary elections. Congress has not got the Hamirpur parliamentary seat since Vikram Singh won the elections in 1996. This time too it is possible that Congress will face Union Minister Anurag Thakur. To save the party’s credibility in the home parliamentary constituency of Chief Minister Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Congress will have to bet on a strong candidate. BJP has been winning Shimla and Kangra parliamentary seats for the last three elections. Congress is also looking for candidates to win these parliamentary seats.
