Municipal Corporation Shimla has increased the property tax by four percent. In such a situation, living in Shimla, the queen of mountains, has become more expensive.
In the monthly meeting of the Municipal Corporation, Shimla, despite the opposition of the corporators, a four per cent increase in the property tax was approved. The Municipal Corporation approved this proposal citing the new formula.
On behalf of the corporation administration, it was told in the meeting that if this is not implemented, then the crisis will deepen on the grant amount of forty crores, Municipal Corporation Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that the Municipal Corporation gets grant from the Central Government and the Central Government Since then, property tax has been fixed across the country by adopting a new formula.
He said – these are the guidelines of the finance commission, the central government had made a filing in this, so grant to us is their system and you will have to implement it. It is compulsory for you to increase your resource.
