Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti), March 22: Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation’s HRTC bus from Kullu to Keylong could not reach its scheduled destination. After the weather cleared, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation conducted a trial on Friday to start HRTC bus service between Kullu and Lahaul Valley, but the trial of HRTC bus failed due to poor condition of the road. Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation sent a 47 seater HRTC bus from Interstate Bus Stand Kullu to Keylong. This HRTC bus could not go beyond Sissu tribal area. The condition of the road in tribal area Sissu is not good. There is a thick crack on the road in Sissu tribal area. Due to this, the road to Sissu has become narrow and operating HRTC bus can be dangerous. In such a situation, the HRTC bus was brought back to Kullu from Sissu itself.

At the same time, HRTC bus trial was also conducted on Keylong-Udaipur, the main road of Lahaul Valley, on Friday. On this road, piles of snow on the roadside between Kirting and Shansha villages became a problem. Due to accumulation of snow, the road has become narrow at this place. Due to this, there is difficulty in taking out the HRTC bus, but the trial was successful.

HRTC Inspector Jaswant Thakur said that it was not possible to get an HRTC bus near Sissu-Nursery. There is a risk due to cracks on the road. Apart from this, the Keylong-Udaipur road has also become narrow due to pile of snow between Kirting and Shansha villages. Jaswant Thakur said that the report of both the roads has been given to Kullu-Keylong, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation Management and the report of Keylong-Udaipur road has been given to the Border Roads Organisation.

In this regard, HRTC Keylong Depot Regional Manager Radha Devi said that the Kullu to Keylong bus trial has been unsuccessful. HRTC bus service will be started on the Keylong-Udaipur route, the main road of the valley, from Saturday.
