Green Corridor: Kiratpur-Kullu-Keylong Becomes Himachal’s First Green Corridor, Charging Station Established

From Chandigarh to Keylong via Kiratpur-Kullu-Manali, tourists from outside states and local people of Himachal Pradesh will now be able to easily travel by road through electric vehicles. The first green corridor of Himachal Pradesh, Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali-Keylong, has been prepared by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Besides, seven electric vehicle charging stations have also been prepared by the Himachal Pradesh government for charging electric vehicles on the Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali-Keylong road. Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that in its very first budget speech, the Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to introduce electric vehicles in large numbers to make the entire Himachal Pradesh a green energy state by 31st March 2026. In this series, the first green corridor of Himachal Pradesh, Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali-Keylong, has been completely prepared. Soon, five more green corridors are going to be prepared in the entire Himachal Pradesh and dedicated to the public by the Himachal Pradesh Government.

Know at which places electric vehicle charging stations will be installed –

Himachal Pradesh’s first green corridor Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali-Keylong by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) Electric vehicle charging stations will be set up at Ghandal, Daseran near Darlaghat, Nauni, Jadol, Nerchowk bypass near Bilaspur district, in front of Bhootnath temple bridge near Kullu district and Keylong.

All the electric vehicle drivers going from Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, towards Keylong are also going to get the benefit of all the seven electric vehicle charging stations of the first Green Corridor of Himachal.

Five new green corridors of Himachal Pradesh will be built by the Himachal Pradesh government at these places –

First Green Corridor of Himachal Pradesh by Government of Himachal Pradesh Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali-Keylong, After the Second Green Corridor Parwanoo-Nalagarh-Una-Hamirpur-Dehra-Amb-Mubarakpur-Sansarpur-Terrace-Noorpur, after the Third Green Corridor Paonta-Nahan-Solan-Shimla, after the Fourth Green Corridor Parwanoo-Solan-Shimla-Rampur-Rekong Peo-Pooh-Tabo-Kaja-Losar, after the Fifth Green Corridor Shimla-Bilaspur-Hamirpur-Kagra-Nurpur-Banikhet-Chamba, along with the Sixth Green Corridor Mandi-Jogindernagar-Palampur-Dharamshala-Kangra-Pathankot, all efforts have been started to soon equip the facility of electric vehicle charging stations.

Tender process for setting up forty-five electric vehicless charging stations across Himachal Pradesh started –

Himachal Pradesh Transport Department has started the tender process for setting up forty-five electric vehicle charging stations to be built for the seven green corridors of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh Government is also providing 50 percent subsidy to all private operators for setting up electric vehicle charging stations and purchasing e-taxi, e-bus as well as e-truck under Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme.
