Highlights –A tree plantation program was organized today by the 17th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force at Rarang-Panung in Nichar sub-division of Kinnaur district.
During this, two hundred and fifty jawans and officers along with the representatives of Kat village panchayat planted two thousand seven hundred and fifty saplings.
On this occasion, Kinnaur District Parishad President Nihal Charas said that environmental protection is the collective responsibility of all of us and tree plantation is the best way for this.
All the police forces of 17th Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police planted important trees like Sawan Durga, Gul Sanobar and Rosemary, the main deodar tree which is mainly grown in the hilly areas and all the forces took a pledge saying that they will take care of all these trees from time to time.
Talking to Diary Times reporter Kumud Sharma, Kinnaur District Parishad President Nihal Charas said that it is due to environmental protection and climate change that floods and landslides occur every year in the entire Himachal Pradesh, and for complete awareness, all programs will be organized to make people aware at the district headquarters, Kinnaur.
