KL Suman, XEN of NH-5 Nigulsari Authority of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that NH-5 has been restored for movement of all types of vehicles since afternoon. KL Suman said that due to repeated landslides on National Highway 5 Nigulsari, it took a lot of time to restore the road on both sides.
National Highway 5 Nigulsari restored by Kinnaur District Authority –
National Highway 5 Nigulsari near Nathpa Jhula in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, which was closed for almost five days, has been completely reopened on both sides for thousands of people and all heavy vehicle drivers. The restoration of National Highway 5 Nigulsari will not only provide relief to thousands of people of Kinnaur district but thousands of farmers and gardeners will also take a deep breath due to the apple season.
National Highway 5 Nigulsari, which was completely closed due to continuous landslides at around 4.15 pm on Thursday, has been restored by the cranes of Kinnaur District Administration Authority.
Due to the restoration of National Highway 5 Nigulsari, road connectivity has been reestablished from Kinnaur district to the capital Shimla and from the capital Shimla to Kinnaur district.
At the same time, with the restoration of National Highway 5 Nigulsari, the process of evacuating all the vehicles stuck from both sides for six consecutive days has also been re-established smoothly by the teams of Kinnaur District Police Administration and Traffic Police.
The biggest relief with the restoration of National Highway 5 Nigulsari is that thousands of farmers and gardeners of Kinnaur district will no longer face any kind of problem in transporting the apple season and all other crops to various markets of the capital Shimla.
A few days ago, due to active landslides from the hills near Nathpa Jhula at 2 o’clock on Saturday night, the entire 200 meter area of National Highway 5, Nigulsari, was completely buried under debris and due to landslides. Part was surrounded by sharp rocks.
Full day and night efforts were made by the National Highway 5 Nigulsari Authority to restore the Nathpa Jhula section of the National Highway with the help of cranes from Kinnaur District Administration, but due to continuous falling of sharp rocks and landslides near Nathpa Jhula, the National Highway was blocked. It was becoming difficult to restore the five Nigulsari.
But due to the day and night hard work of the Kinnaur district administration, National Highway 5 Nigulsari has been restored after a lot of hard work, but due to the warning of landslides at night, it has been decided to keep National Highway 5 closed for some time. Kinnaur District Police Administration told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that NH 5 Nigulsari has been kept closed at night so that any kind of major accident does not arise.
As soon as the Kinnaur district administration restored National Highway 5 Nigulsari, first of all all the heavy vehicles supplying gas cylinders and petrol diesel as well as all the vehicles supplying essential commodities have been sent towards Kinnaur city.
On the other hand, XEN KL Suman of National Highway 5 Nigulsari Authority, Rampur told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that at around 4.15 pm, National Highway 5 has been restored from both sides for the movement of all types of vehicles.
KL Suman also said that most of the difficulties were being faced in restoring all the roads of National Highway 5 Nigulsari and Nathpa Jhula due to severe conditions of frequent active landslides, but Kinnaur District Police Administration And after hard work day and night by all the officers, employees and laborers, the road on both sides has been restored for movement of all types of vehicles.
