Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG), formerly Khelo India School Games (KISG), are yearly multidisciplinary grassroot games held at the national level in India for two categories: under-17-year-old school students and under-21-year-old college students. They are held in January or February. For eight years, the top 1,000 students will receive a yearly scholarship worth 5 lakh rupees ($6,300) to help them get ready for international sporting contests.

The first phase of the Training of Trainers (TOT) Program took place in December 2018 and January 2019. A total of 160 trainers will receive training in 4 groups of 40 during the months of December and January. To include all interested teachers, administrators, vice-principals, and physical education instructors, this TOT Program will be conducted every six months or four times a year.

The Khelo India School Games were officially launched on January 31, 2018, at the opening ceremony held at Indira Gandhi Arena in accordance with the Guru-shishya tradition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  Khelo India School Games were renamed to Khelo India Youth Games for the 2019 events after Indian Olympic Association joined the organisation earlier in September 2018.

To expose athletes to multi-disciplinary games at the collegiate level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first Khelo India University Games in Cuttack on February 22, 2020.

The 2022 Khelo India Youth Games were won by the U-18 Haryana Women’s Hockey team. The women’s hockey team from Hockey Haryana won the Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Women’s Under 18 Qualifiers in Bhubaneswar by defeating Madhya Pradesh (2-0) in the final match.

The U-18 Haryana Women’s Hockey team won the 2022 Khelo India Youth Games. Hockey Haryana’s women’s team defeated Madhya Pradesh (2-0) in the championship game to claim victory at the Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Women’s Under 18 Qualifiers in Bhubaneswar.
