Chandigarh University has won the gold medal in the Kabaddi category of Khelo India University Games. All the players playing for Chandigarh University have been from Himachal Pradesh. All the players are taking training at Khelo India Center located in Rajpura, Nalagarh. Chandigarh University won this match 33-31. Sakshi Sharma has been adjudged the best player of the match. The final match of Khelo India Kabaddi competition held in Guwahati, Assam was between Chandigarh University and Bharatiya Vidyapeeth of Maharashtra.

In a very exciting match, both the teams have performed well. Till the last raid, the match could have gone in favor of any team, but Chandigarh University captain Sakshi Sharma made the team the winner by scoring points in the last raid.

Ankita Chandel, Tanvi Lukata, Shanvi, Krutika, Priya, Luna, Shivani Thakur, Ridham, Shagun Nayak, Mehak Chandel and Anisha have been part of the team under the leadership of Sakshi Sharma, resident of Shillai, Sirmour. All these players are taking training at Khelo India Camp located in Rajpura, Nalagarh.

Khelo India Center Rajpura coach Sanjeev Thakur told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that eight teams from the entire country had qualified in Khelo India. Chandigarh University had qualified for the first time. All the women players in this team were from Himachal Pradesh. For the first time, Chandigarh University team has won gold. He has congratulated all the players for better play.

Shritima will rain punches in Khelo India University competition –

Shritima Thakur, a student of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan B.Ed, M.Ed Training Institute Nogli, is going to show her strength in the Khelo India University Boxing Competition. Shritima has won many medals at the university level. President of the institute, Dr. Mukesh Sharma said that along with education, physical development is also important. For this achievement of Shritima Thakur, he has announced to honor her with 5,100 appreciation awards. In the current session 2022-2024, a total of 35 trainee boys and girls have passed the examinations of TET, CTET, NET and JRF. Dr. Mukesh Sharma has announced to give incentive amount of Rs 2,100 and appreciation award to the trainees who pass the examination.
