Kanpur Dehat Murder Case 2023
On Monday, 13th February a severe mother-daughter murder case shocked the entire country. A mother and daughter were set on fire alive. This case took place in the Kanpur Dehat area.
As per the allegations made by the victim’s family. The Municipal team came to remove the illegal construction on the public land. They set fire to the house, in which the mother and daughter were present. Thus, both the mother and daughter died in the fire. The family of the victims complained an FIR on Tuesday against the 39 people including the SDM of the area.
- The team head and the JCB driver got arrested.
- The accountant and the SDM are also suspended.
The police say, that it was not a murder by suicide by the angry mother and daughter who locked themselves inside the house and set fire to themselves.
The opposition party is highlighting it as a caste discrimination case.
Due to the involvement of SDM and many officers of the government. The higher authorities have asked for a proper investigation to be held on this case.
Most recently the updates made by the Superintendent of the Police to the Media were as follows.
A complaint was made in January by Vishal Dixit on the illegal capturing of public land by Shivam Dixit. As per the SDM’s order, the team along with the JCB machine went to remove the illegal constructions of that land. Notices to empty the houses were already given to the people living there. Many left the place by some refused to leave their houses.
During the process of the anti-encroachment drive at the village, the mother Pramila Dixit (45 years old), and daughter Neha (20 years old) set fire to themselves.
The dispute between the two families led to the death of the mother and daughter.
The investigation is still going on. The police have to report the case to the Allahabad High Court. The court has asked 4 more police teams to do the investigations and improve the speed as per the increasing aggression in the people.
The case has two sides one of the victim’s family and one of the authorities. The increasing aggression among the public and the pressure from the higher authorities are increasing the speed of the investigation. Soon the culprits will be arrested.
The two victims’ bodies were sent for autopsy and then are sent to the last riots. The victim’s family is provided security. The son of the victim also says that they suffer the loss of 22 goats in the incident.
