Kangra Police Seizes 70.59 Grams of Chitta, 4 Kg 28 Grams of Hashish, and 54 Grams of Opium in Major Drug Busts
Dharamshala, November 22: Kangra Police of Himachal Pradesh has achieved a major success against drug abuse. In three separate cases, the police have arrested the criminals by recovering 70.59 grams of chitta, 4 kg 28 grams of hashish and 54 grams of opium.
In the first case, on November 20, on the basis of secret information, the team of Palampur Police Station arrested Lavan Sahota alias Love resident Jalandhar (Punjab) from Chachian Varsha Shalika with 30.03 grams of chitta. The police have registered a case against the accused and started investigating the matter.
The second case is of Nagarota Bagwan police station. The police were checking vehicles on NH-154. During this time, during checking near OBC Bhawan, the police recovered 40.56 grams of chitta from a white i 20 car (HR 24 AC-4070). Police arrested two youths travelling in the car. The accused have been identified as Nihal Manchanda (24) resident of Sirsa, Haryana and Akhil Rana (22) resident of Kangra.
The third case is also from Palampur police station. Police arrested a person travelling in Himachal Path Parivahan Nigam bus (HP 66-9607) with 4 kg 28 grams of hashish and 54 grams of opium. 35-year-old accused Suraj Mani is a resident of Mandi district.
Police have registered a case against the accused in all three cases. At present, the police is now investigating where this narcotic substance was brought from and where it was to be sold. Additional Superintendent of Police Bir Bahadur has confirmed this.
