Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Dharamshala, March 27:Â A professor of Shahpur campus of Central University of Himachal Pradesh has been arrested for raping a research student. Research student has accused her own professor of rape. On the basis of the student’s complaint, a case was registered against the professor in this regard at Shahpur police station.

The accused professor has been arrested on Wednesday. ASP Kangra Bir Bahadur confirmed that the student has stated in her complaint that her professor took her to a private hotel in Shahpur and raped her.
On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case and detained the professor. Police are implementing legal action in the matter.

On the other hand, students demonstrated by locking the CU campus regarding the rape of a student. The students are adamant on their demand to suspend the accused professor.
