Mandi, August 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut has once again come into controversy. Recently, in an interview to a newspaper, Kangana had given a statement about the farmers’ movement, in which she linked it to the recent events in Bangladesh. She claimed that foreign powers like China and America are working in India, which is promoting the farmers’ movement.

After this statement of Kangana, BJP took immediate action and strictly instructed her not to make such statements in future. In a press release issued by the Central Media Department of BJP, it has been said that Kangana Ranaut’s statement on the farmers’ movement is not the opinion of the party and such statements can harm the image of the party.

Kangana Ranaut said in the interview, “What has happened in Bangladesh would not have taken long to happen here (in India) if our top leadership was not strong.” She compared the farmers’ movement to the change of power in Bangladesh and the recent movement there. Kangana said, “The farmers’ movement that happened here, dead bodies were hanging from vehicles, rapes were happening… the farmers had a long-term planning, like it happened in Bangladesh. Such conspiracies… what do you think farmers…? China, America… such foreign powers are working here.”
