Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 21: Taking cognizance of the Kalka-Shimla four lane construction work, Himachal Pradesh High Court has strongly reprimanded NHAI. The Himachal Pradesh High Court said that there is debris lying everywhere on the Kalka-Shimla four lane. Road cutting is being done illegally and long poles are being installed at various places. The division bench of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Sushil Kukreja said that NHAI should summon the fresh status report on this in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. The Himachal Pradesh High Court said that four-lane and double-lane roads mean that the journey should be comfortable and pleasant and tourism should also be promoted.

The Himachal Pradesh High Court said that Building bridges on tall poles by NHAI means that beautiful restaurants, shops, indoor games and hotels should be built there. New innovations should be made so that tourists coming from outside can enjoy their trip to Himachal Pradesh. Tourists should also get relief from traffic jams and the hotel industry should get a boost.

Due to delay in Kalka-Shimla four lane work, the Himachal Pradesh High Court itself took cognizance of the matter. The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the Central Government and NHAI to expedite the Kalka-Shimla four-lane construction work. Advocate KD Sridhar appeared on behalf of NHAI. He said that he would take up the matter before the Central Government and the Himachal Pradesh Government. The next hearing of the case will be on April 3.
