Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 04: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Jagat Prakash Nadda has resigned from the Rajya Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh on Monday night. On February 20, Bharatiya Janata Party President Jagat Prakash Nadda was elected Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat. Apart from this, three other candidates were elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. Four seats of Gujarat Rajya Sabha were vacant. The ruling BJP had filed nomination papers for all the seats. Now Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda has reached Parliament from Gujarat. However, no date for the swearing in of Rajya Sabha MPs has been announced yet.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar accepted resignation –

JP Nadda resignation has been accepted by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. The parliamentary bulletin issued reads, ‘Jagat Prakash Nadda, elected member of the Council of States (Rajya Sabha), representing the state of Himachal Pradesh, has resigned from his seat in the Rajya Sabha. The Chairman has accepted the resignation of JP Nadda on March 4.

Apart from BJP President JP Nadda, the three BJP leaders who have been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha include diamond businessman Govindbhai Dholakia, BJP leaders Jaswant Singh Parmar and Mayank Nayak.
