As per the order of Himachal Pradesh High Court, the Cabinet of Himachal Pradesh Government has taken a major decision and removed Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Dr. Sanjay Kundu from the post of DGP with immediate effect. DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu has now been handed over the important responsibility of Himachal Pradesh Chief Principal Secretary AYUSH Department. It is also being told that soon orders will be issued for the appointment of the new DGP of Himachal Pradesh. A complete notification has been issued by the Chief Principal Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Prabodh Saxena regarding the posting of the new DGP of Himachal Pradesh. If we talk about Himachal Pradesh cadre, the name of the senior most police officer, 1988 batch IPS officer Tapan Kumar Deka, stands out. Himachal Pradesh DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu is a senior IPS officer of the year 1989 batch. DGP Dr Sanjay Kundu comes after IPS officer Tapan Kumar Deka in seniority.

Tapan Kumar Deka, a 1988 batch IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, is currently on central deputation and is already serving in the higher ranks. Anyway, DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu is going to retire in the month of April in the new year 2024.

In order to ensure that the entire matter is investigated impartially, Sanjay Kundu has been removed from the post of DGP with immediate effect and given the responsibility of Chief Principal Secretary of Himachal Pradesh AYUSH Department. CM Sukhu said that Manali Winter Carnival will boost tourism in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh government is working day and night on war footing to promote tourism. CM Sukhu said that there will be no shortage of petrol and diesel in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh government is making arrangements for diesel and petrol under police supervision. CM Sukhu said that the Narendra Modi government at the Center should take seriously the issue of complete strike by truck drivers.

Know what is the entire case of DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu –

Let us inform that on December 27, orders were issued by the Himachal Pradesh High Court to remove Himachal Pradesh DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu and Kangra District Police Administration SP Shalini Agnihotri from their posts with immediate effect. A division bench of Himachal Pradesh High Court comprising Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua had issued a notification to the Himachal Pradesh Home Secretary regarding the entire matter to take necessary steps with immediate effect. Himachal Pradesh High Court had issued orders with immediate effect appointing all the top officials of Himachal Pradesh Police to the important posts of DGP and SP Kangra, thereby preventing both of them from influencing the investigation of the FIR lodged in the entire matter. There should not be a chance. After hearing the entire matter related to the security arrangements of Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma, all important orders were issued by the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

In the entire case, the applicant Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma had also informed the Himachal Pradesh High Court through e-mail regarding the threat to themselves and his family’s security. Converting the e-mail into a criminal writ petition, Himachal Pradesh High Court passed an interim order with immediate effect directing Shimla District Police Administration SP and Kangra District Police Administration SP to provide complete security arrangements to the applicant Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma. During the last hearing of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, Kangra District Police Administration SP Shalini Agnihotri had told the High Court that Kangra District Police Administration Additional Superintendent of Police will investigate all the allegations made in the FIR registered on the complete complaint of the applicant Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma.

Shimla District Police Administration SP had already expressed suspicion of involvement of high profile people in the entire matter. In the complete investigation of Shimla District Police Administration SP, prima facie it was found that DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu had been in contact with an influential person for a long time, informed by Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma. In the complete investigation of Shimla District Police Administration SP, it was also found that on October 27, DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu had missed calls fifteen times continuously to Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma. In the entire matter, it was also revealed that DGP Dr. Sanjay Kundu was also monitoring continuously Palampur businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma.
