International Professional Boxing Championship organized on June 23 at Shimla's historic Ridge Ground on the birthday of former Chief Minister of the state late Virbhadra Singh
International professional boxing championship is being organized tomorrow on 23rd June at the historic Ridge ground of Shimla.
State President of Boxing association Mahendra Satan told that this boxing competition is going to be organized in Shimla on the birthday of former Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh.
He said that the participants have reached Shimla to participate in this competition. Mahendra Sattan told that apart from India, participants from Russia, Vietnam, South Korea and Philippines are participating in the competition.
He said that Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will inaugurate the competition and State Congress President Pratibha Singh will also be present during this. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, party state in-charge Rajeev Shukla and state sports minister Vikramaditya Singh will participate in the closing ceremony.
Mahendra Sattan said that the purpose of the competition is to give a platform to the talent of the youth and to increase their inclination towards sports. Ten boxers are participating in this, five are coming from outside countries like Russia, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea. Five more boxers are from India.
The per fight prize we have kept in this, the first price is fifty thousand and the second is 31000. Our championship is being held here at the historic Ridge ground.
This champions is happening very well because it is happening for the first time in whole India that till date in Pro Boxing, total six countries have never participated in whole India. This is the first time that too it is going to happen on the Shimla ridge grounds of Himachal.
