Trees fallen on the road

Shimla, 08 August: Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surender Chauhan said that after heavy rains, trees have fallen at many places in Shimla. The Municipal Corporation team has visited the spot.
He said that on the complaint of the people, the Municipal Corporation has also started the work of removing the trees which have become a threat to the houses, but in this the tree can be cut only after the permission of the Forest Department.
He said that the process of cutting trees through the Tree Committee of the Municipal Corporation becomes very long. In such a situation, there is a need to give such power to the SDM, in which permission to cut trees is obtained quickly in a disaster.
