Now in Himachal Pradesh, children up to five and a half years of age are going to get admission in the first class in the academic session 2024-25.

The state cabinet has decided to give age relaxation for only one year. From the year 2025-26 session, only children who complete six years of age on April 1 will get admission in the first class.

An MoU will be signed between the state government and Alliance Airlines regarding starting air flights from Shimla to Dharamshala and from Dharamshala to Shimla, under which flights will operate till June 30.

The state cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at the state secretariat on Wednesday. Many important decisions were taken in this.

Day-boarding schools will open in Shimla, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra and Una districts –

The state cabinet approved opening of 12 Rajiv Gandhi day boarding schools in the state. Earlier, in the rules that were fixed for this, some relaxation was given in the condition of land. These schools are going to be opened in Saraswatinagar of Shimla district, Bhoranj of Hamirpur, Badsar, Amlehar of Nadaun, Hatwai of Ghumarwin of Bilaspur, Jaisinghpur of Kangra, Jawali, Nagrota Bagwan, Jwalamukhi and Gagret of Una.

In this meeting, Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (HPSIDC) has received approval to carry out civil works in government departments and public sector undertakings.

The state cabinet has also given approval to collect toll tax on toll barriers from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. The Cabinet has also approved Himachal Pradesh Mines and Mineral Policy 2024. There is a provision to increase employment opportunities in the mining sector, regulate mining related activities and take action against those doing illegal mining. Director Urban and Local Bodies will be appointed as State Project Monitor. It will monitor departmental services.
