Truck operators in Himachal Pradesh have also gone on strike against the amendments made in the Motor Vehicles Act by the Narendra Modi government at the Center regarding hit and run cases. For the second consecutive day of truck operators’ strike, the wheels of more than thirty thousand trucks have completely stopped. Due to which the supply of petrol and diesel at petrol pumps is being badly affected. There were long queues of vehicles at petrol pumps in the entire Bilaspur district since Tuesday morning. On the other hand, some petrol pumps in Bilaspur district have already run out of petrol and diesel. The petrol pump operators have completely closed the petrol pump by tying a rope outside the petrol pump. Besides, Himachal Pradesh Police personnel have also been deployed to maintain the traffic order at all the petrol pumps where there is a huge crowd of vehicles and people.

For the last three consecutive days, petrol and diesel are not being supplied at all the petrol pumps in Himachal Pradesh. There is only about one to two days of petrol and diesel left at all the petrol pumps in Himachal Pradesh. If the tanker operators’ strike continues like this, the people of Himachal Pradesh may have to face huge problems in the next two days. The strike of private bus drivers and conductors of Himachal Pradesh is also going on for two consecutive days. Due to which the pressure on the buses of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has increased a lot. Along with the people traveling in private buses from rural areas of Himachal Pradesh, school children are also facing the most problems. All the transport agencies of Shimla district are also protesting against the amendment made in the Motor Vehicles Act and trucks have been parked by all the transport agencies.
Only Rs 200 worth of petrol is being given in Solan district –
There are long queues of vehicles at all the petrol and diesel pumps in Solan district since morning. Only Rs 200 worth of petrol is being given to the drivers. There is no petrol and diesel left at many petrol pumps in Solan district. Seventy percent of petrol pumps in Solan district are going to be empty by Tuesday evening.
Two days holiday declared in all private schools affiliated to CBSE New Delhi in Una district –
On the other hand, holiday has been declared for two days in all private schools affiliated to CBSE New Delhi in Una district. All the CBSE New Delhi affiliated school operators of Una district have taken an important decision to keep the schools closed due to shortage of petrol and diesel and extreme cold. There are long queues of vehicles waiting to fill petrol and diesel at the petrol pump in Dharamshala. On Monday evening, petrol and diesel were completely exhausted at the petrol pump. The work of filling petrol and diesel has started again after the tanker carrying petrol and diesel arrived at the filling station early in the morning. Due to the massive strike by truck operators across Himachal Pradesh, the supply of petrol and diesel is being completely affected. Petrol and diesel have run out at all the petrol pumps in Chamba district.
Long queues of vehicles at petrol pumps in Himachal Pradesh, heavy traffic jam in Shimla city –
Long queues of vehicles have formed at all the petrol pumps in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. To fill petrol and diesel, people have to stand in long queues for four-five hours. Due to which, problem of heavy traffic jam has arisen on all the roads of entire Shimla city. On the other hand, many people have been seen carrying petrol and diesel in bottles in the capital Shimla.
Blockade organized in Baddi by the Truck Operator Union of Solan district –
Truck Operator Union Baddi also organized a traffic jam and protest on the Baddi-Pinjore road in Solan district in protest against the amendment made in the Motor Vehicles Act by the Narendra Modi government of the Center regarding hit and run cases and the Narendra Modi government of the Center. Slogans have been raised loudly against the government. Truck operators have raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Baddi-Pinjore highway has been completely blocked for about half an hour during the massive protest. Solan District Police Administration reached the spot and cleared the jam due to heavy protest. More than ten thousand trucks are on strike in BBN for two consecutive days.
Fierce protests on the streets in Sirmaur district, traffic jams at various places, arguments between police and protesters –
Strong protests are also being held on the roads of Sirmaur district against the amendments made by the Narendra Modi government at the Center in the Motor Vehicle Act regarding hit and run cases. Even on Tuesday, private bus operators as well as drivers in Sirmaur district are protesting heavily on all the roads of Solan district. There has also been a massive protest and blockade by the Driver and Transport Association in Nahan, the Sirmaur district administration headquarters, near Delhi. HRTC buses are also being stopped in Shillai amid the protests. The protesters are also raising slogans and arguing with the Sirmaur Police. Also, truck drivers and operators took out a rally and demonstrated fiercely at Dosadka, located three kilometers away from Sirmaur city.
Even in Dosadka, trucks have been stopped for hours and blocked. A large number of police forces were also deployed in Dosadka. In Sirmaur district, one hundred and sixty-nine buses are operated by the Private Bus Operators Union. Private buses provide their services on both internal and external routes in Sirmaur district. All 169 bus drivers have stopped operating their buses in protest against the amendments made in the new Motor Vehicles Act. Due to which people are facing huge problems throughout the day. There are many remote routes in Sirmaur district on which private bus services are in abundance. Due to closure of private bus services in the entire Sirmaur district, students of schools, colleges, ITIs as well as working people are facing a lot of problems for two consecutive days. Many people are not able to go out for work due to closure of public transport.
