Highlights –Shimla, The Capital of Himachal Pradesh, is said to be a city of historical buildings, so there will be no exaggeration in this.
The historical buildings of Shimla built during the British period are still working to keep the city alive as well as enhance its beauty.
Today we are talking about one such historical building town hall which is built between the ridge and mall road of Shimla.
During the British period, the town hall was built in 1988. In the initial period, there was a municipal committee, which had a total of eighteen members.
Later, this committee was given the form of a corporation.
The identity of the town hall was British During the reign, the largest committee of the country was Present at hall.
At present, the term of Shimla Municipal Corporation is running in this building and the mayor and deputy mayor are sitting here and working for the city.
Mayor of Shimla Surendra Chauhan told Diary Times that Shimla’s town hall is a big historical heritage and the identity of Shimla, whether it is town hall, Gaiety theatre, church of Shimla, state library, means a historical heritage, Shimla, this building of municipal committee is nineteen eight.
Mayor of Shimla Surendra Chauhan told Diary Times that It was formed in 1950 and today it is almost the first of our thoughts, which according to my knowledge used to have eighteen members, there used to be a municipal committee.
Mayor of Shimla Surendra Chauhan told Diary Times that So it is a great heritage in itself and in today’s environment also it is based on the old style. No such extra has been made in it because it is a heritage zone, whatever heritage building we want in Shimla, whether it is a Gaiety theatre, whether it is a townhall, it belonged to the municipal committee.
Mayor of Shimla Surendra Chauhan told Diary Times that Our office, whether it has mayor and deputy mayor’s office, the rest of the office has been shifted to DC OFFICE and it is a very beautiful building and it has an identity and historical heritage as well.
The famous historical town hall of Shimla is a testimony to the glorious past of the building. That it was built by the finest craftsmen of that era. The building is built in half-timbered Tudor style.
It was designed by the Scottish architect James Ransom as a library. While the original town hall building was designed by Henry Irwin, who designed many other buildings in colonial India. In the year 2014 the historic town hall was renovated and worked in the same style in which this building was constructed.
Mayor of Shimla Surendra Chauhan told Diary Times that Which is more prevalent than the Gothic style because it is made from the same system as the Gothic style. That style is a very old style and even in today’s modern times people are adopting it because building according to the Gothic style because so much It is an old building but even today it is standing in the same way, but no extra work has been done on it in any sense, but it has been constructed according to the Gothic style.
No, in which little wood work has been done because the style of making remained the same, but in this you must have seen that if there is a little extra rain, it also causes a lot of damage because it cannot put extra roof in it, cannot exceed it. Due to which it also has a little damage due to rain because the wood is not able to survive, it has been renovated to make it in the same style as it was prepared before, because it still has many shortcomings but That much extra he cannot be flirted with.
Significantly, the original town, hall, building was built in 1860 and its construction work was completed in 1888. Later the British rule changed its form. This building connects the surrounding architecture which is reminds us of the pre-independence era.
