Himalayan Queen Train: Disappointment Among Tourists Due To Closure of Himalayan Queen Train On The World Heritage Kalka-Shimla Railway Line.

Shimla – All tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh from outside states used to come through Shatabdi train and entered the capital Shimla using Himalayan Queen train from Kalka. The Himalayan Queen train started running from Kalka at 12:10.
Himalayan Queen Train – Himalayan Queen Train running on the world famous heritage Kalka-Shimla railway line of Himachal Pradesh has been completely stopped. Not all tourists are getting the benefit of the special train run in place of the Himalayan Queen train. The running time of the special train on the Kalka-Shimla railway line has been kept at 11:55 am. Also, after the special train on Kalka-Shimla railway line, Shatabdi Express train running from India’s capital New Delhi towards Kalka is reaching Kalka. Due to which all the tourists of Shatabdi Express are not getting the benefit of special train on Kalka-Shimla railway line.
On the other hand, all the tours and travels companies and agencies of Himachal Pradesh are also continuously opposing this decision of the Northern Railway Board.
Apart from this, in the online ticket booking site of Himachal Pradesh, the status of the train is being stated as canceled in the 24/7 railway information.
All the tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh from outside states used to come through Shatabdi Express train and reach the capital Shimla using Himalayan Queen train from Kalka.
The Himalayan Queen train used to run from Kalka in Himachal Pradesh at 12:10 in the morning. Due to which all the tourists reaching Kalka from New Delhi in Himachal Pradesh could easily get the Himalayan Queen train from Kalka to the capital Shimla before arriving at 11.40 in the morning. But now due to the running of special trains by the Northern Railway Board, tourists have started feeling disappointed.
Now in Himachal Pradesh, due to continuous delay in arrival of Shatabdi Express train and change in timing of special trains, all the passengers are able to reach the capital Shimla through private taxis.
On the other hand, most of the tourists and passengers used to reach Kalka in the east through private taxi from Chandigarh Airport to travel in Himalayan Queen train, but now due to running of special train at wrong time at Kalka Junction, the number of passengers is continuously decreasing. It is happening and tourists have started turning away.
The fare of Himalayan Queen train from Kalka via the capital Shimla was only Rs 475 in first class and Rs 275 in CC. Also, now the fare of special train from Kalka to Shimla has been reduced to only fifty rupees.
Only two stops for special train-
For the special train being run from Kalka in Himachal Pradesh to the capital Shimla, only two stops have been kept, first Dharampur Railway Station and second Barog Railway Station.
At the same time, reaching the second stop, Barog Railway Station, is considered to be a very difficult journey, because the road route from Barog Railway Station has not been made yet, whereas the stops of Himalayan Queen Train were kept at each of the small railway stations.
The Himalayan Queen train itself is being run in a new way through a special train. The timing of the special train running from Kalka has been changed from October 1. Whereas two stoppages have been kept to save time of passengers. Railway Board teams will get complete information about fares while investigating.
