After the weather remained clear on Friday in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, the weather has once again deteriorated on Saturday. Amidst the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the period of heavy snowfall has started once again in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. After one day of clear weather in Himachal Pradesh, the weather has deteriorated once again on Saturday.

Amidst the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the period of heavy snowfall has started once again in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla has also been recorded by IMD Shimla.

Tourists from India and abroad present at the historic Ridge Ground and Mall Road of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, are thrilled to see the snowflakes falling.

On the other hand, the sufferings of the common people are still not being reduced due to heavy rains and snowfall in the past few days.

Till 10:00 am on Saturday, four national highways and 504 roads in Himachal Pradesh were closed for traffic.

In Himachal Pradesh, most of the roads have been closed in the capital Shimla, Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti.

Apart from this, 674 power transformers are also stalled in Himachal Pradesh. Due to transformer failure, there has been blackout in many parts of Chamba, Mandi, Shimla and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh.

Transformers have come to a standstill in Himachal Pradesh due to broken electrical wires and poles.

The problems of common people have increased due to power failure amid the bitter cold.

However, Electricity Board employees and officers are working day and night in the field to restore power supply.

At present, about 200 roads and 300 electricity transformers along with three highways are stalled in Kullu district and Lahaul.

Due to bad weather, the problems of the Public Works Department and the Electricity Department have also increased.

Most of the routes of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) remained closed, 136 HRTC buses got stuck in snowfall –

After heavy snowfall, about 600 routes of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) are closed across Himachal Pradesh.

About 136 HRTC buses of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) are stuck on the roads due to snowfall.

For the convenience of passengers, HRTC is operating buses on alternative routes. HRTC routes have been affected the most in Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur, Mandi and Lahaul-Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh.

Due to heavy slippage on National Highway-05, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has taken an important decision to suspend night bus services on some routes.

Heavy rain and snowfall forecast for the next three days in Himachal Pradesh, Orange alert issued by IMD Shimla on February 4 –

Meteorological Center Shimla has once again forecast heavy rain and snowfall in many parts of Himachal Pradesh for the next three days by IMD Shimla.

Fresh western disturbance has become active in Himachal Pradesh. Due to the active western disturbance, IMD Shimla has predicted heavy rain and snowfall in many areas of central and high hill districts of Himachal Pradesh till February 5.

Heavy rain has also been forecast in the plains of Himachal Pradesh by IMD Shimla. Orange alert of heavy snowfall in Kullu, Chamba, Shimla, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh on 4th February has been issued by IMD Shimla.

Light to moderate snowfall in Shimla city and surrounding areas during Orange Alert has also been predicted by IMD Shimla.

On the other hand, thunderstorm and lightning at some places in the plains and lower hill and central hill districts of Himachal Pradesh on February 3 and February 4 has been predicted by IMD Shimla.

IMD Shimla has predicted hailstorm at different places in Himachal Pradesh on February 4. Whereas on February 6, IMD Shimla has expressed the possibility of heavy rain and snowfall at one or two high mountain places of Himachal Pradesh. IMD Shimla has predicted clear weather in entire Himachal Pradesh from February 7.

67 roads of Shimla division still closed due to heavy snowfall –

67 roads of Shimla division of Public Works Department are still closed. These include 15 roads of Shimla, 12 Dhami, 18 Chaupal and 22 roads of Theog area.

Due to heavy snowfall and rain in Upper Shimla, relief and rescue operations are facing difficulties.

Public Works Department officials told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that if the weather remains fine in Shimla city, then 50 out of 67 roads will be restored by evening.
