Due to continuous snowfall in the upper regions of Himachal Pradesh, the sufferings of the people have increased. Due to snowfall, four national highways and 387 roads in the state were blocked for traffic till 10:00 am on Wednesday. Maximum 288 roads are blocked in Lahaul-Spiti district. 77 roads are blocked in Chamba district. Besides, 895 power transformers and 17 drinking water supply schemes have also come to a standstill in the state. On the other hand, the second snowfall of this winter season and new year in the tourist city Manali and surrounding areas has been recorded by IMD Shimla. There was snowfall in Manali city and surrounding areas on Tuesday night.

Manali city recorded about four centimeters of snowfall, while Dhungri, Nasogi, Old Manali recorded five to seven centimeters of snowfall. Apart from this, Solangnala, Atal Tunnel, Dhundhi, Kothi have recorded three to five feet snowfall in two days. Snow removal work has started after the weather cleared on Wednesday. At present tourist vehicles are being sent to Nehru Kund. At the same time, it is raining and snowing in many upper areas of Shimla district since afternoon. Rain and snowfall have been recorded in Tharoch, Shilla and many other areas of Chaupal.

Even today, a yellow alert has been issued by Meteorological Center Shimla for thunderstorm and hailstorm in some parts of Himachal Pradesh. The weather is likely to remain bad in some parts of the high mountains till February 25. On the other hand, the possibility of a fresh western disturbance becoming active from the night of 24th February is being expressed by IMD Shimla. Due to the effect of Western Disturbance, rain and snowfall has been predicted again in Himachal Pradesh on 26th and 27th February by IMD Shimla.

Last night, Kothi 30.0, Keylong 18.0, Kukumseri (Lahaul-Spiti) 15.3, Bharmour 8.0, Teesa 2.0, Manali 1.0 and Kalpa 0.9 cm snowfall has been recorded by IMD Shimla.

Know where and how much rain was recorded –

During the last 24 hours, Manali 29.0, Saloni 25.3, Teesa 20.0, Chamba 16.0, Seubag 11.0, Baijnath 10.0, Dharamshala 8.0, Baldwara 7.5, Maire Barsar 6.0, Palampur 6.2, Bhuntar 5.4, Jogindernagar 5.0, Kangra 4.2, Shri Naina Devi 4.2 and Gohar 4.0 mm rainfall has been recorded by IMD Shimla.

Know the minimum temperature of different areas –

Minimum temperature in Shimla 2.9, Sundernagar 5.2, Bhuntar 4.0, Kalpa -1.2, Dharamshala 6.2, Una 6.7, Nahan 7.9, Palampur 5.0, Solan 5.3, Manali 0.1, Kangra 7.6, Mandi 6.1, Bilaspur 8.0, Chamba 4.9, Jubbarhatti 6.4, Kufri 0.3, Kukumseri -7.1, Narkanda -0.5, Bharmour -1.2, Reckong Peo 2.9, Seaubag 3.3, Dhaulakuan 10.6, Barthin 7.0, Samdo -2.0, Mashobra 6.2, Paonta Sahib 10.0, Sarahan 3.5 and Dehragopipur 6.0 degrees Celsius recorded by IMD Shimla.

One foot fresh snowfall was recorded in Tepa of Churah assembly –

In Tepa, the highest village of Churah sub-division, villagers have been forced to hide in their homes due to torrential rains and snowfall of up to one foot late on Tuesday night. The increased cold after snowfall has increased the sufferings of the people.
