Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Keylong, March 13: The Public Works Department is carrying out the work of restoring the roads blocked due to heavy snowfall in Spiti section at a fast pace. In case of disaster, 156 small and big roads are registered with the Public Works Department, Kaza.

Till now, Rangrik bridge to Kibber road, Chichim bypass road, link road Kih Math, Kaza to Langja road, Poh to Nidang Pomrang road, Shichling Mane road, Shichling Dhakhar road, Lingti Rama road, Rama to Lalung road, Guling Kungri road, Shichling Dhankhar and The roads of Kaza local have been restored.

Along with this, till now Tajint Hikkim route, Langcha to Komik route, Komik to Demul route, Losar to Kyamo route, Kyato to Chichim Kibber route, Kyuling to Rangrik route, Rangtang to Kwang route, Dhankhar Lalung Demul, Komik route, Gyu route, Tenlig Tudnam Yansa Road, Teling to Khar Road, Kuganri to Thukatan Road, Mikkim Kungri, Upper Guling Bhar Road, Senlig Bhar Road, Chhidang Tangti Yogma and Gogma Road, Kah to Fukchuk Minsa Road, Kiya Nala Road, Contact Road Chandratal, Contact Road Chhidang, Rangrik to Nah link road, Pangmo link road, Khurik link route, Khurik link route, Munseling School to Rangrik link route are included.

ADC Rahul Jain said that this time there has been more snowfall than in the last several years. The work of restoring the roads under the Public Works Department has been going on continuously since March 3. More than 200 people who were stranded here during the snowfall were rescued and sent to Kaza Samudo Road through the JCB of the Public Works Department.

Along with this, BRO has been ordered to immediately restore the Rangrik to Losar route. BRO’s JCB has restored the route from Losar to Kyoto. Along with this, the road till Rangrik Murang has also been restored. Losar to Kaza road will also be opened for five days.

The Public Works Department has deployed five dozers, three private JCBs, three department JCBs, four camper vehicles and two dippers. Glaciers are coming again and again at many places. The Public Works Department even restored Teling in Pin Valley. A target has been set to restore the road till Mud in one to four days.
