Himachal Shocked: Tourist From Phagwara Murdered In Bhagsu Nag, Controversy Over Entry Into Restaurant
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Dharamshala, March 21: The murder of a tourist from Phagwara, Punjab has come to light near the taxi stand in Bhagsu Nag under McLeodganj police station of Himachal Pradesh. A case of murder has been registered on the complaint of 23-year-old Harmanpreet Singh, son of Balwinder Singh. At present it has not been revealed whether a weapon was used in the incident or not, but it seems clear that the tourist died due to head injury.
It is noteworthy that four relatives had reached Bhagsu Nag around 2.30 am to visit Himachal Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Navdeep Singh son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Phagwara, Kapurthala, Punjab.

Know the whole matter –
23 year old Harmanpreet Singh told the police that he drives a truck in Saudi Arabia. Returned back about two months ago. Sister is married in Canada. Brother-in-law and sister had come to the house along with their children. The family had planned an outing on Wednesday. After this, he left home for McLeodganj around 10 pm last night in his car number (PB36H-7127). Took two rooms at Hotel Om Palace in Bhagsu Nag at 2.30 in the night.

family Went towards Bhagsu Nag Chowk for breakfast on Thursday morning. During this time, all four of them started entering Aryan Coffee Shop for breakfast. During this, the shop owner Hoshiar Singh said in a strict tone that alcohol should not be consumed in the shop. In response to this the tourists asked who drinks alcohol early in the morning. Along with the arguing, pushing and shoving also started. During this time the crowd also gathered. All four started being beaten.

Harmanpreet Singh also told the police that the attackers took his friend Sanjeev and his brother-in-law Gagandeep Singh towards the taxi stand. During this time, he found that his brother Navdeep was lying face down on the road in front of Aryan Coffee Shop. He immediately reached his brother. After treatment at the local hospital, his brother Navdeep was referred to Dharamshala.
Doctors declared his brother Navdeep dead at Zonal Hospital Dharamshala. The victim’s side also said that the brother was deliberately killed. Along with him, two others also got injured in the fight.
Additional Superintendent of Police Veer Bahadur said that a case has been registered under sections 302 and 341 of the IPC.
