Una, July 5: Himachal Pradesh’s Una district has been rated as the best in the country in the implementation of the joint action plan “Ek Yudh against Drugs” of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). Una district has been awarded for this achievement on June 30 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This award was received by Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal from the hands of Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai.

Giving information regarding the award, Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal said that Una district was awarded for being first in the whole of India in the implementation of the joint action plan “Ek Yudh against Drugs”.

He said that in receiving this award, extensive cooperation of various departments of Una district has been received. Various departments have made their commendable contribution in implementing the drug-free Una campaign against drugs on the ground. He said that the Nasha Mukt Una Abhiyan was implemented in the districts as a pilot project, which has shown positive results.

He said that under the Nasha Mukt Una Abhiyan, to make children and youth aware against drug abuse, various programs related to skills and life development were organized at school and college level, where 26 thousand students were connected, while about 247 teachers and school heads were also trained.

He said that the main objective of this program was to strengthen the emotional and mental health of the students, while keeping them away from negative thoughts so that they stay away from drugs.

Along with this, Har Ghar Dastak Abhiyan was also conducted, through which awareness was raised against drug abuse in one lakh houses and people were made aware about the ill effects of drugs. Apart from this, people were also made aware through social media.

The Deputy Commissioner thanked the district residents for joining the Nasha Mukt Una Abhiyan, and also hoped that in future also, by joining such campaigns of Una District Administration, they will cooperate in making Una district drug free.
