Highlights –

Monsoon season has ended in six major districts of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Solan, Sirmaur, while hailstorm has occurred in villages and suburban areas in the capital Shimla.

The weather has started changing in Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall has started on the high peaks of Lahaul Spiti. On the other hand, Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, received light rain and snowfall along with hailstorm in lower parts. It has been raining in Manali since early morning due to which vehicular movement on the Manali-Leh route has been closed due to snowfall beyond Jingjingbar. Manali-Leh National Highway has been closed. Due to heavy snowfall in Baralacha Pass, vehicular movement has been stopped due to snowfall beyond Darcha Pass.

In Lahaul Spiti, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) team has removed snow late in the evening, due to which the Lahaul Spiti district administration has again blocked the road for vehicles.

There are full chances of the monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh to last for two to three more days in the state. Last year, the monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh had ended on October 3, due to which this year the people of the state had to bear the brunt of 20 percent more rain in the entire Himachal.

This is the status of Himachal Pradesh monsoon –

The monsoon season has completely ended in the six major districts of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Solan and Sirmaur, while the monsoon season is still not over in the capital Shimla due to rain and hailstorm. The monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Mandi and capital Shimla will completely end within two to three days. Monsoon arrived in Himachal Pradesh on June 24, due to which the Western Disturbance is still active in the entire Himachal Pradesh.

There will be light rain in some districts in Himachal Pradesh on October 2 and according to Shimla Meteorological Department Centre, the weather will be completely clear in the entire Himachal Pradesh for a week from October 3.


Due to clear weather, farmers and gardeners have also started grass cutting. Now, farmers and gardeners have started the work of grass cutting with laborers in all the pastures and grasslands of the state including apple orchards. Grass harvesting in Himachal Pradesh will continue successfully till the entire month of October.
