SMC teachers working in schools of the state have opened a front against the Himachal Government demanding a permanent policy.
For this, these teachers have given the government an ultimatum till September 30. SMS Teachers Association President Sunil Sharma said in a press conference in Shimla that the government has regularized the teachers engaged on PTA, PET and Para Period basis in a short period of time. But no policy is being made to regularize SMC teachers. He said that if a permanent policy is not made by September 30, then protests will be started after that.
We have been meeting the government for months but have received nothing till date except assurances. And even if there was an amendment in our policy, so many cabinets have been made but the government has not yet made any amendment in our policy. We have become so troubled and so desperate that today through you through the press, we have to say with great sadness and sorrow that we are against the government and if necessary, we are against the government too. We will not hesitate to go and if our work is not done by the 30th and regularization work is not done then we will be forced to take to the streets.
