Highlights –Heavy rainfall in the state from July 7 to 11 has broken all previous records and Kinnaur, Kullu, Solan and Bilaspur districts have received 800 percent more rainfall than normal during this period.

Shimla-based Meteorological Centre’s director Surendra Paul said that the heavy rains in eight districts of the state have broken all previous records and 30 per cent of the rainfall in the entire rainy season has been received in these four days only.

In these four days, 223 mm rainfall was recorded in the state, which is the highest so far.

It is raining since morning in many parts of the state including capital Shimla.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall at many places in the state on July 15 and 16.
