Opposition’s walkout in the matter of outsourced personnel: Deputy CM said – Cleanways company acted like an employment exchange; The given 40 crores will be investigated

There was a lot of uproar in the Himachal Vidhansabha on Tuesday over the termination of services of outsourced personnel. The opposition brought an adjournment motion in the House even before the commencement of the Question Hour. During this, there was a heated argument between the ruling party and the opposition. On not being allowed to discuss the adjournment motion by the speaker, the opposition staged a walkout raising slogans.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu termed the opposition’s protest as politically motivated. After returning from Delhi, the Chief Minister said that the opposition did nothing for the outsourced workers during their tenure. Now BJP is out of power, so they are worried about outsource and trying to show in public that they are very concerned about outsourced workers.

The Chief Minister said that the opposition did not listen carefully to his budget speech, in which he talked about taking several steps for the interests of outsourced and other employees.

Opposition’s protest condemnable: Agnihotri

Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri said that the Cleanways organization, which was given the contract of recruitment of outsourced personnel by the former Jairam government, will get all its irregularities investigated. Rs 40 crore wrongly given to this company by the previous government, strict action will be taken after probing it. He said that this company created havoc in Himachal for 5 years and acted like an employment exchange.

The government will take a decision on the report of the sub-committee.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that the government has formed a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan regarding outsourced personnel. Based on the report and recommendations of the sub-committee, the government will take its next decision. A policy decision will be taken regarding these soon. Mukesh Agnihotri said that the outsourced personnel whose contract has been completed is a policy matter.

Jairam Thakur told the government insensitive

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur called the Congress government insensitive. Jairam Thakur said that Congress had promised 5 lakh jobs before coming to power, but neither it was mentioned in the budget, on the contrary, the government has started the process of removing outsourced workers. He accused the government of acting insensitively.

The Chief Minister was also targeted

Targeting the Chief Minister Sukhu, the Leader of the Opposition said that the budget session is going on here and the Chief Minister is trying to save his leader leaving his constitutional work. Attacking the Congress, he said that three Congress chief ministers reach Rajasthan to save a leader who has been punished by the court. BJP strongly condemns it.

These MLAs of BJP brought adjournment motion

Earlier, BJP MLAs Sukhram Chaudhary, Trilok Jamwal, Surendra Shourie, Randhir Sharma, Janakraj, Vipin Singh Parmar, Vinod Kumar and Hansraj had demanded a discussion on outsourced recruitment. Speaker Kuldeep Pathania said that during the budget session many questions have been raised regarding outsourced recruitments. Then the government has given its answer. In view of this, discussion on outsourced again and again cannot be allowed.

30 thousand outsourced employees in Himachal

About 30,000 outsourced employees are providing services through service provider companies in various departments and board-corporations of Himachal Pradesh. Due to termination of contract with these companies, about 2500 employees have been laid off. The sword is still hanging over the jobs of hundreds.

What will happen to their future, it is not decided yet. 10 to 20 years have passed while providing services to them, but till now their future has not been secured. From 2017 till 2017, the former Virbhadra government and from 2017 to 2022, the Jairam government kept giving them a tingle of the policy, but till date the policy could not be formulated.
Strong political will required to implement transfer policy: Rohit

Education Minister Rohit Thakur has said that the transfer policy for the employees already exists in the state. Strong political will is needed to implement it. If there is to be an improvement in the functioning of the education department, then both the ruling party and the opposition will have to agree, so that by getting rid of the problem of transfer, focus can be placed on the quality of education. He said this in response to the discussion on the proposal brought by MLA Sanjay Ratan regarding quality education and strengthening of educational institutions in the state.

Himachal’s position is much better in terms of teacher-student ratio

The Education Minister said that even though Himachal is at 11th position in the country in the field of education, but the teacher-student ratio of Himachal is much better. He said that while there is one teacher for every 30 children in the country, in Himachal one teacher is appointed for every 12 children.

Congress party will stand with Rahul: CM

On Rahul Gandhi issue, the Chief Minister said that the Congress party is the main opposition party of the country and Rahul Gandhi is the biggest leader of the party. When something happens in the family, all the members unite and try to deal with it. Regarding the remarks made by the opposition BJP on Rahul Gandhi, the Chief Minister said that this is not a political issue. Whenever Rahul Gandhi needs him in future, he and his entire cabinet will stand by him.

Talked to Amit Shah regarding NDPS Act

In response to a question regarding amendment in the NDPS Act, the Chief Minister said that he has also spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding this matter. He has sought permission from the Union Minister to take strict action against the drug peddlers. The Chief Minister said that this Act is under the Centre. That is why only the Center can do something on this. That is why we have come up with a resolution to amend the NDPS Act.
