In the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Rajesh Sharma from Dehra Assembly Constituency and Hardeep Baba from Nalagarh Assembly Constituency were given Congress Party tickets.

According to sources, there are difficulties in selecting a candidate for the Hamirpur assembly seat in CM Sukhu’s home district. Currently, Dr. Pushpendra Verma, who was a candidate in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections from Hamirpur assembly seat, CM Sukhu’s political advisor Sunil Sharma and former MLAs Anita Verma and Kuldeep Pathania along with other senior Congress leaders are in the race for the ticket.
