Himachal Pradesh: 66.56 percent voting recorded till 5 pm, all eyes on the record voting percentage of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections

Despite the effect of heatwave, tremendous enthusiasm is being seen among the voters of the state regarding voting.66.56 percent voting has been completed in Himachal Pradesh till 5 pm on Saturday.The voting process is going to continue till 6 pm, due to which there is every possibility of further increase in the latest figures of the voting process.The hill people are voting enthusiastically in the election mega festival of the year 2024.

The hill voters of Himachal Pradesh have left behind all the voting records in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.It is worth noting that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, a record-breaking 72.42 percent voting took place. But this time there is every possibility of this record being broken.

The Election Commission’s target in Himachal Pradesh is to conduct more than 76 percent voting in the Lok Sabha elections.In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, 72.42 percent voting took place. After this, in the 2022 assembly elections, a record voting of 75.87 percent was recorded in Himachal Pradesh.

In the voting process that started at 7 am on Saturday, the number of voters at the booths was less, but after two hours the voting picked up pace.After 9 am, a large number of people left their homes and reached the polling booth.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Manieesh Garg said that till 5 pm, 66.56 percent voting was recorded in Himachal Pradesh.He said that a record-breaking 69.07 percent voting was recorded in Mandi parliamentary constituency, 67.59 percent in Shimla parliamentary constituency, 65.90 percent in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency and 64.07 percent in Kangra parliamentary constituency.A record-breaking 80 percent voting was recorded in the world’s highest polling station Tshighang in tribal district Lahaul-Spiti.

He said that record-breaking voting was also recorded in the six seats of the assembly by-election. According to the data of 5 pm, 73.72 percent voting was recorded in tribal assembly constituency Lahaul-Spiti, 71.40 percent in Kutlehar assembly constituency, 68.28 percent in Gagret assembly constituency, 63 percent in Sujanpur assembly constituency, 66.27 percent in Dharamshala assembly constituency and 50 percent in Barsar assembly constituency.

Voting for all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh began at 7 am on Saturday and only 14 percent voting took place in the first two hours. After this, voting picked up pace and 32 percent voting was recorded by 11 am and 48 percent by 1 pm. 58.41 percent voting was recorded by 3 pm.
