By-elections were held on Sunday for 28 out of 86 vacant posts of Panchayati Raj institutions in Himachal Pradesh. Candidates were elected unopposed on 57 posts. There has been no nomination for the post of a ward member.
The vote percentage in the By-elections of Panchayati Raj institutions was 63.73 percent. The highest 84.47 percent voting took place in Sirmour district. Voting was recorded at 72.67 percent in Shimla district and lowest at 59.27 percent in Kangra.

Apart from this, 65.02 percent voting took place in Bilaspur, 64.18 in Hamirpur, 62.69 in Mandi and 62.07 percent in Una.
9383 male voters and 9790 female voters have voted in the By-elections. A total of 19173 votes have been cast.
State Election Commission Secretary Surjit Singh Rathore said that voting in Himachal Pradesh was peaceful.
The election results are going to be uploaded on the web portal of the department.
