Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, May 31In the final phase of voting for four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, June 1, the prestige of a total of 37 candidates is at stake.
Among the four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh, the maximum number of twelve candidates have filed nomination from Hamirpur parliamentary seat, while the minimum number of five candidates have filed nomination from Shimla parliamentary seat.10 candidates each have filed nominations in Kangra and Mandi Lok Sabha seats respectively.
Everyone knows very well that there is a direct contest between BJP and Congress on all four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh.
The Aam Aadmi Party and CPI(M) have supported the Indi alliance, due to which no candidate from these parties has filed nomination.
In the Lok Sabha elections of India, Mandi seat of Himachal Pradesh remains a hot seat.Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been made the candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party, while the Congress party has made the entire election contest interesting by making Vikramaditya Singh, son of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh, its candidate. Mandi Lok Sabha seat has also made a lot of headlines due to the statements of both the candidates.
Candidates of both BJP and Congress parties have come out to try their luck in the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in Mandi parliamentary constituency.
It would not be wrong to say that BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut is definitely a new name in Mandi parliamentary constituency, but in Mandi parliamentary constituency, BJP is fighting the entire Lok Sabha election in the name of PM Modi and the face of former CM Jairam Thakur.
Let us tell you that Mandi Lok Sabha constituency is the home constituency of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and the entire responsibility of making BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut win is on the shoulders of Jairam Thakur.
Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh’s mother and Himachal Pradesh Congress Party President Pratibha Singh is the current MP from Mandi Lok Sabha seat.
Himachal Pradesh Congress Party President Pratibha Singh changed the whole game by defeating Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Brigadier Khushal in the 2021 Lok Sabha by-election, But in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Mandi Lok Sabha seat has been a stronghold of the BJP and the BJP has got a tremendous lead due to the PM Modi wave. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has once again put in all its efforts to win this seat in its favour by organizing a huge public meeting of PM Narendra Modi in Mandi.
There seems to be no contest between BJP and Congress in Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, which is called the strongest stronghold of Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP has fielded four-time MP and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, while Congress has fielded former MLA Satpal Raizada as its candidate. Congress candidate Satpal Raizada looks very weak in front of the BJP candidate. Candidates of both the parties have sought votes in their favour by getting star campaigners to address huge public meetings in Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat.
Congress Party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has addressed a huge public meeting for the Congress candidate, while BJP has seen huge crowds in the huge public meetings of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda.
BJP has expressed confidence in Suresh Kashyap for the second time from Shimla parliamentary seat, while Congress has made Kasauli MLA Vinod Sultanpuri its confidant.
In Shimla parliamentary seat, BJP is contesting in the name of PM Modi, while Congress is trying to save Shimla Lok Sabha seat with the help of its MLAs.There are five ministers in the ruling Congress government from Shimla parliamentary constituency. Both the parties have sought votes in favour of their candidates by getting veteran leaders PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi to address huge public meetings in Nahan as star campaigners.
Kangra Lok Sabha seat, which is the second stronghold of BJP after Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, here BJP has placed its bet on Sangathan Karyakarta Rajiv Bhardwaj, while Congress party has increased BJP’s difficulties by giving ticket to former Foreign Minister of India Anand Sharma. In Kangra Lok Sabha seat also two new candidates are trying their luck.BJP candidate Rajiv Bhardwaj has been a very old active karyakarta of BJP Sangathan, Also Anand Sharma is a veteran national leader of Congress party and has also been a Union Minister in the past. Both the candidates come from Brahmin community, due to which there is definitely a competition.
