Amidst the election stir, former minister Dr. Ramlal Markanda reached Lahaul on Tuesday morning. After this, Ravi Thakur along with other office bearers announced mass resignation from Lahaul-Spiti BJP. Dr. Ramlal Markanda announced that whichever party gives him ticket, he will contest the upcoming elections from that party. He said that this step has been taken for the people of Lahaul-Spiti.

There is huge anger among Lahaul-Spiti BJP workers over the decision of giving BJP ticket to Ravi Thakur. In Keylong, district to mandal level officials of BJP including Markanda announced mass resignation. Markanda said that the party high command has taken its decision without keeping in mind the interests of the workers.
