Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Nadaun, April 11: Expressing faith in the policies of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Hamirpur Municipal Council Chairman Manoj Minhas, wife Nisha Minhas and Ward No. 2 councilor Rajkumar joined the Congress party on Thursday. Manoj is hurt by BJP giving tickets to sellable Congress MLAs. Bharatiya Janata Party has suffered a major setback in Hamirpur due to Manoj and Rajkumar joining Congress.

The Chief Minister got Manoj Minhas, Nisha Minhas and Rajkumar included in the Congress by wearing them a patka at Sera Rest House. Manoj has described the 15-month tenure of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu as commendable. After joining Congress, he said that the government is working in public interest. The six sellable MLAs of Congress wanted personal development and not public development. He did not consider the development of the state as paramount. The public had elected him for five years, but he betrayed the people within 14 months. The by-election will put additional burden of crores of rupees on the public. Manoj said that by working shoulder to shoulder with the Chief Minister, he will speed up the development of Hamirpur city. The works that have been stalled for years will be completed at a faster pace.

The Chief Minister said that the development of Hamirpur city should be given main priority. Work to change the face of the city. The state government has released a budget of crores of rupees for the beautification of the city and for undergrounding the electric wires, make full use of it. Make the people of the city aware of the works of the Congress government. Work will be done day and night to establish new dimensions of development in Hamirpur district.
During this, former Congress candidates Dr. Pushpinder Verma, Pankaj Minhas, Vivek Katoch, Sutikshna Verma and Vikas Lath were present.
