A five year child has died due to drowning in a stepwell in Chhadol village under Shri Naina Devi tehsil of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. The deceased child has been identified as five-year-old Atish Sehgal, son of Nirmal Sehgal, resident of Chhadol Primary School, first class.
After school is out, Aatish Sehgal was going home. Meanwhile, on the way, Aatish Sehgal started drinking water from the stepwell. Suddenly Aatish Sehgal’s foot slipped. After which five year old Aatish Sehgal died due to drowning.

The children studying with Aatish Sehgal had informed the entire incident to Aatish’s family.
On receiving the information, the family members of Aatish Sehgal immediately reached the spot of incident at the stepwell of Chhadol village.
Five-year-old innocent child Aatish Sehgal was taken out of the stepwell and taken to the primary health center Chhadol with immediate effect, but by then it was too late.
Aatish Sehgal was declared dead by the doctors of Primary Health Center Chhadol.
As soon as information about the entire incident was received, the teams of Sadar Police Station of Bilaspur District Police Administration reached the spot and recorded the statements of Atish Sehgal’s family members.
Sadar police station in-charge Madan Dhiman has confirmed the entire incident to Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma.
