Himachal News: Two youths from Derabassi and one from Chandigarh died on the spot after getting stuck in the swamp in Yamuna Ghat

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Nahan, May 31A heart-wrenching incident took place on Friday evening in the Yamuna river, which divides the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.A tragic case of drowning and death of three youths who had gone to the Yamuna river to take a bath with the intention of getting relief from the effects of heatwave has come to light.

According to the information received, the bodies of all the three deceased youths have been recovered from the Yamuna river by divers.Divers told that the entire incident took place near Yamuna Ghat.

On receiving the information about the death of three youths, the officials of Sirmaur District Police Administration reached near Yamuna Ghat and started the search operation with immediate effect with the help of divers.

The three deceased youths have been identified by the Sirmaur District Police Administration as 22-year-old Dharendra Saini alias Prince son of Shyam Singh Saini, resident of Derabassi, Mohali, Punjab, 21-year-old Raghav Mishra son of Nanhe Lal Mishra, resident of Derabassi and 21-year-old Abhishek Azad son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Sector 9D, Chandigarh.

Sirmaur District Police Administration DSP Aditi Singh said that the bodies of the three youths have been taken out of Yamuna Ghat with the help of divers.All heat records have been broken due to heatwave in Paonta Sahib subdivision of Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh.Along with the local people, tourists coming from other states are also bathing in rivers and streams to avoid the increasing effects of heatwave.

DSP Aditi Singh said that the bodies of the three deceased have been taken out with the help of divers and sent to the mortuary for identification. After identification, the post-mortem of all the three deceased is going to be conducted on Saturday.
