Una, July 3: A case of robbery of a woman’s gold earrings has come to light in Kotla Kalan, adjacent to Una district headquarters of Himachal Pradesh. The woman alleges that two bike-borne youths ran away after robbing her earrings on the pretext of asking for directions. Una police has registered a case against the unknown bike rider on the complaint of the woman and started investigation.

In the complaint given to Una police, Raksha Devi, resident of Kotla Khurd, said that last Tuesday she was going to Baba Bal Ji temple on foot from her house to pay obeisance. As soon as she crossed the gate of Baba Bal Ji and started going towards the temple, a bike was parked on the way at some distance.
One person was sitting on the bike and the other person was working in the field, who were talking to each other. The person working in the field came towards me and started asking about the way to Ghaluwal. Before I could answer, the man snatched the earrings from both my ears and fled with the person sitting on the bike. On hearing the screams, the local people gathered and tried to catch him, but were unsuccessful.
The woman has lodged a complaint with the Una police regarding the robbery.
Una District Superintendent of Police Administration Rakesh Singh said that on the basis of the complaint, Una police has registered a case against the unknown bike riders. CCTV footage is also being examined.
