Himachal News: Tragic death of a 12th class student after his feet slipped into Risa Ravine while playing cricket
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Mandi, June 08 :A case of a painful death of a 12th class student due to drowning in Risa ravine has come to light in Jaral village of Chowk Brarta Panchayat under subdivision Sarkaghat of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
Sarkaghat police station in-charge said that Sahil, 16 years old son of Kamlesh Kumar, a student studying in 12th class in Jaral village, had gone to play cricket with his friend in the ground located on the banks of Risa ravine. While playing cricket, his ball fell into the Risa ravine adjacent to the ground.
Local people told the Sarkaghat police station in-charge that Sahil tried to catch the ball but due to slipping of Sahil’s feet, he drowned in the extremely deep Risa ravine adjacent to the ground.
Seeing Sahil drowning in the extremely deep Risa ravine, local swimmers pulled Sahil out of Risa ravine, after which it was found that Sahil had stopped breathing.
The entire incident was reported to the Sarkaghat Police Station in-charge by the local villagers. Immediately after that, the Sarkaghat Police Station in-charge along with his team reached the spot, took the body of the deceased Sahil in their possession, got the postmortem done in the Civil Hospital Sarkaghat and handed over Sahil’s body to his family.
DSP Sarkaghat Sanjeev Gautam said that the Sarkaghat Police Station in-charge has started investigation into the matter.He told that the deceased Sahil’s father Kamlesh Kumar is a taxi driver and Sahil was the only support of his parents.
