Himachal News: Tenders Will Be Held Within 21 Days, Development Works Will Accelerate

Now tenders for all development works will be done in Himachal Pradesh within 21 days. Also, the contractor will have to start the work within 30 days of being allotted the work.

Himachal Public Works Department has issued orders to all the engineers deployed in the field regarding the Tender Process.

Earlier, the process of allotting tender was done by Himachal Public Works Department within 51 days.

To expedite the development works in Himachal, the state government has decided to complete the tender process within 21 days in the Cabinet Meeting.

Roads, bridges, construction of buildings, ditches and drains etc. have been included in the tender process.

Time for online tendering for development works in Himachal has also been reduced to ten days.

Now the Executive Engineer is going to issue the award letter within ten days of receiving all the tenders. Also, the award letter will be issued within 20 days of online publication.

If the tender case is above Rs 2 crore at the level of Superintending Engineer, then ten days have been allotted for receiving the tender, seven days at the level of Executive Engineer and ten days for the tender process at the level of Superintending Engineer.

It has also been made mandatory to allocate work within the prescribed time limit.

If the prescribed time period is not followed at any level, then strict action is going to be taken against the concerned officer.

The performance of field officers in all development works will be monitored by the Himachal Public Works Department and according to the performance, Officers will also be entered in the ACR grading.

Himachal Public Works Department Engineer-in-Chief Ajay Gupta told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that the process of issuing award letters for development works to contractors within 20 days has been started. This important decision has been taken in the Cabinet meeting so that there is no delay of any kind in all the development works.
