When he was asked about contesting the by-election, he said – He is a BJP worker and being a true soldier of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he will contest the elections on ticket only. Ramlal Markanda will remain in Shimla for a few days and will work on the next strategy by meeting senior BJP leaders. About a year ago, while being a minister in the Jairam government, former BJP minister Ramlal Markanda had contested the elections from Lahaul Spiti on a BJP ticket.
