Mandi, July 20: Jal Jeevan Mission means tap in every house, but the pipes allotted under this scheme are also being used to make railings. This surprising case has come to light in Kalaswai village under Dharampur subdivision of Mandi district. Here a person made the railing of his house from the pipes used in the government water scheme.
When the vigilance received secret information about this, the team immediately reached the spot and took action. The person had installed railings at his house using about 40 meters of government pipes of one and a half inch, one inch and half inch.
In the preliminary investigation, the vigilance has registered a case of theft and it is believed that these pipes have been stolen and used in this manner, but the vigilance is not denying the involvement of the department in this and the case is being investigated from that perspective as well.
After registering the case, the vigilance team will now try to find out whether the person had stolen these pipes or had used them in connivance with a departmental officer.
DSP Vigilance Priyank Gupta has confirmed the case. He said that action is being taken in the case as per rules. The investigation will be taken forward as per the facts. Investigation will also be done regarding departmental involvement.
