But Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agrihotri had refused saying that he would return home in the evening. Due to which Simmi Agrihotri slept at home after her husband Mukesh Agrihotri left.

In the political career of Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Prof. Simmi Agnihotri was the backbone. Prof. Simmi Agnihotri was often seen walking shoulder to shoulder with Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri at his political events. Mukesh Agnihotri and daughter Aastha Agnihotri have been bereaved by the sudden demise. Prof. Simmi Agnihotri considered the entire people of Haroli assembly constituency of Una district as her family and always stood with the people of Haroli assembly constituency in their sorrows and happiness. During the elections in Haroli assembly constituency, when Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was active in the politics of Himachal Pradesh for victory of the party, at that time Prof. Simmi Agnihotri and daughter Aastha Agnihotri maintained direct contact with the people of Haroli assembly constituency and played an important role in the election victory of Mukesh Agnihotri.

Prof. Simmi Agnihotri had deep faith in Mata Chintpurni. During the resounding victory of Mukesh Agnihotri in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Prof. Simmi Agnihotri traveled on foot from Haroli assembly constituency and paid obeisance at other Shaktipeeths including Mata Chintpurni. On the other hand, on 12th February, She had organized the Jagran of Chintpurni Mata in Bathu. A few hours before her death, Simmi Agnihotri herself was busy in preparations for the Jagran of Mata Chintpurni. During the last journey of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri, Mukesh Agnihotri and daughter Aastha supported mortal remains and lit the funeral pyre. Due to the sudden demise of Professor Simmi Agnihotri, there has been a wave of mourning in the entire Himachal Pradesh including Haroli assembly constituency.

Professor Simmi died before reaching Max Hospital –

Last Friday afternoon, Dr. Simmi Agnihotri was sleeping in her house. During this time his health suddenly deteriorated. Daughter Aastha Agnihotri had given information about her deteriorating health to Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, who was attending a cabinet meeting in Shimla. After cabinet meeting Deputy CM’s brother Dr. Rakesh Agnihotri reached Gondpur Jaichand and checked the health of Simmi Agnihotri and brought him to his hospital. It was decided to take her from the hospital to Max Hospital in Chandigarh. Meanwhile, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri had also returned home from Shimla. It is being told that while taking Simmi Agnihotri to Chandigarh, She met Deputy CM Nangal and also moved ahead. But Simmi Agnihotri was unconscious. Simmi Agnihotri died on reaching Ropar in Punjab. Simmi Agnihotri’s death was confirmed by doctors after she was taken to Max Hospital in Chandigarh.

Professor Simmi was known as a social worker –

Dr. Simmi Agnihotri was a professor in the Department of Public Administration at Himachal Pradesh University. One of his books ‘Empowering Tribes, A Path to Sustainable Development’ has been published. Book was inaugurated by Honorable Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla about three months ago. Dr. Simmi was more interested in social and religious work. Simmi Agnihotri was born on 29 September 1968 in Mandi city. Simmi has two younger sisters. Simmi did MA and PhD from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. She was married to Mukesh Agnihotri on 8 April 1992. Simmi Agnihotri was also known as a social worker. She was also awarded Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Nari Shakti Award.
