Himachal News: One quintal 46 kg 890 grams of poppy husk recovered from canter, accused driver arrested
Una, July 14: Una police recovered a consignment of drugs from a canter near Majara turn under Sadar police station of Una district of Himachal Pradesh. Una police recovered one quintal 46 kg 890 grams of poppy husk from the canter and arrested the driver. Una police identified the accused driver as Rahul Sharma, resident of Bas Nangal, district Rupnagar Punjab. Una police has registered a case against him and started investigation.

According to the information received, a canter going from Gujarat to an industry in Tahliwal was stopped by Una police on Sunday morning on the basis of suspicion. During the search, five sacks were recovered from the canter, which contained poppy husk. Police recovered one quintal 46 kg 890 grams of poppy husk from five sacks. The canter driver was identified as Rahul Sharma, resident of Rupnagar Punjab. Police have seized the poppy husk and the canter. After receiving the information, ASP Una Surendra Sharma also reached the spot.
The ASP said that the police have registered a case against the driver Rahul Sharma for carrying poppy husk. The police is investigating where the poppy husk being carried in large quantities came from and where it was to be supplied.
