Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una, April 15: A massive fire broke out in a scrap industry located in Mehatpur industrial area of Una district on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Due to this massive fire that broke out due to unknown reasons, the entire industry was burnt to ashes while the scrap inside was also completely destroyed.

As soon as information about the massive fire was received, the fire department team reached the spot and started efforts to control the fire. The fire department also started efforts to protect other premises adjacent to the industrial complex which were completely engulfed in the fire. They were trying to control the fire with the fire tender sent to the spot from the headquarters, but the fire became more violent due to which fire tenders of the fire brigade from the adjacent industrial area Tahliwal also had to be called to the spot. But despite this, when the fire did not come under control, the fire department of neighboring state Punjab was also informed.

Una district fire officer Nitin Dhiman confirmed the incident and said that there has been a lot of damage in this incident which is being estimated, however, due to the fire, a two-storey building has been damaged in which the fire is still burning below the fallen building and Efforts are being made to control it. He said that the reasons for the fire could not be revealed yet. However, this industrial complex was filled with plastic waste due to which the fire kept on raging.
