Kangra, July 3: 6 people trapped in the strong current of water in the bypass Baner Khad of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh have been rescued safely.

6 people trapped in the strong current of water were rescued safely from Baner Khad by the fire department personnel after carrying out a rescue operation for about two hours.

According to the information received from Kangra Police, devotees who came from other states to visit Mata in Shri Brajeshwari Devi Temple went to take bath in Baner Khad at 6:30 am in the morning. During this time all the devotees were bathing on the banks of Baner Khad, but six of these devotees went to the middle of Baner Khad. Due to heavy rain on the mountain, the flow of Baner Khad increased and all six devotees got trapped in the middle of Baner Khad. During this time, the local people informed the personnel in the fire department office about the entire matter.

As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade personnel reached the spot. With the help of a rope, all the six devotees were taken out of Baner Khad.

Let us tell you that the Kangra district administration has also installed information boards at various places along the Baner Khad, on which it is written that bathing in Baner Khad is prohibited. Because the water level of Baner Khad can rise anytime. It is the rainy season at this time, so do not go inside Baner Khad, but these warning boards have no meaning for the devotees coming from other states. They ignore them and go to take bathe in Baner Khad and sometimes even become victims of accidents.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, a young man died due to drowning at Baner Khad. Just last week, an awareness campaign was also launched by the Kangra Police to not bathe in Baner Khad through loudspeakers on the banks of Baner Khad.

Regarding the entire matter, DSP Kangra Ankit Sharma says that there was information about some devotees being trapped in the strong current of Baner Khad. Kangra Police team and fire brigade team reached the spot. The devotees trapped in the current of Baner Khad have been safely evacuated.
