In order to ban continuous illegal construction works in the entire Himachal Pradesh, an important decision has been taken to impose a complete ban on the construction of all illegal buildings to complete the expansion works of Himachal Pradesh Development Plan areas in Chaupal Tehsil of the capital Shimla and Kullu district.

In view of all the losses caused due to natural disaster due to heart-wrenching rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to approve all the important projects to scientifically deal with all types of natural disasters in the coming years.
In order to ban the construction work of illegal buildings which is continuously taking place in Himachal Pradesh, an important decision has been taken to ban the construction work of expansion of Himachal Pradesh Development Plan areas in the capital Shimla and Chaupal Tehsil as well as in the entire Kullu district.
Seventeen Green Belt Zones have been created by the Himachal Pradesh Government in four hundred and fourteen hectares of land in the entire urban development area of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh.
Also, out of the four hundred and fourteen hectares of land in the urban development area of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, seventy-six percent of the land comes under the jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh Government.
Himachal Pradesh Government has declared eight more Green Belt areas as Green Zone, under which Retreat, Mashobra, Bandh Tukda Endari, Shiv Mandir Edadi, Tal and Giri, DPF Khalini, BCS Mist Chamber as well as Parimahal have been declared Green Belt Zone.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that amendment in Chapter Seventeen of the Development Plan Areas has been made to include the Development Plan Areas of the capital Shimla in the Green Belt areas and to include more areas.
Apart from protecting the green belts of the capital Shimla, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu is also making continuous efforts to stop the increasing encroachment of local people in the green belt areas.
Apart from this, CM Sukhu said that in Kullu district and Chaupal tehsil of Shimla city, Himachal Pradesh government has decided to expand all types of important special development plan areas under control of all illegal construction works.
